Kingsway Arms was established in 1997 by Patrick Byrne after he sold his first retirement home, “The Bradgate Arms,” to Central Park Lodge. The name “Bradgate Arms” was included in the sale and a new name, “Kingsway Arms” was created. The word “Arms” is commonly used for a pub that one would find in Britain, Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Additionally, “Kingsway” connotates royalty, of high quality or “fit for a King” and this is exactly the motto that we have for our business vision. All of our homes are “Fit for Kings” and they are all perfect for your loved one.

Kingsway Arms acquires, develops, and manages retirement home properties in suburban centres and small towns throughout the Provinces of Ontario, British Columbia and Quebec. Our homes have attained the highest form of accreditation from our industry association, the Ontario Retirement Care Association (“ORCA”).

At Kingsway Arms we are dedicated to your wellness and overall health care and we recognize that a lifestyle beginning can have an enormous effect on a senior. Moving, downsizing, and leaving your home can be very difficult and our trained staff at Kingsway Arms are there to help. Kingsway Arms has now been operating retirement homes for nearly 15 years. Today we manage 1,200 beds and have a staff in excess of 350 people. Our only business is the retirement home business and we continually ensure our staff is the most highly trained in the industry by mandating regular staff attendance at our annual symposiums and through many additional professional development programs. We regularly review and update our training practices. Additionally, we are one of the few operators that have experience in the delivery of care for cognitive impairment. We are the first to institute a privately run Alzheimer Facility that is fully accredited by our industry association, “ORCA.”

Kingsway Arms is focused on creating a branded portfolio of retirement homes across Canada. Our goal is to provide our residents with superior quality accommodations and care at all times at affordable prices and we intentionally position ourselves in the mid-market price point sector.
